Get Hired in IT

Go from IT cert to hired.

THE THING THAT'S NOT WORKING

You did everything they told you to do. You earned the certification — Google IT Support, CompTIA A+, whatever it took. You studied nights. You passed.

And then you started applying. Ten applications. Fifty. A hundred. Silence. Maybe an interview that felt fine — until the rejection email showed up anyway.

So you did what makes sense: you decided you must need MORE. Another cert. Another course. More proof you can "do the work." And you're about to spend months earning it.

Here's the hard truth: another certification won't fix this. Because the problem was never that you don't know enough. Hiring managers spend about eight seconds on your application — and in those eight seconds, they're not checking whether you have knowledge.

They're scanning for proof you can do the job, follow through, and fit the team. You have the knowledge. You just haven't learned to show the proof.

That's not a knowledge gap. It's a signal problem — and signal problems get fixed in days, not years.

WHAT TO DO INSTEAD

Stop stacking credentials. Start sending signal.

Get Hired in IT teaches you to see what hiring managers are actually scanning for, dig up the proof you already have (yes — you have it), and show it in a way they can't ignore. In four days, you'll build three "Signal Statements" that stop an eight-second skim cold, turn them into spoken stories you can deliver in an interview without freezing, and walk away with a repeatable job-search system instead of firing applications into the void.

No new certs. No fluff. Just the missing translation layer between the skills you already have and the offer you haven't gotten yet — with AI tools that make the whole process faster and a workbook that becomes your proof.

HOW IT WORKS

See it. Sharpen it. Show it.

01

01 — SEE YOUR SIGNALS
MODULE 1

Get inside a real IT manager's head on a chaotic Tuesday and understand what they scan for.

Learn to recognize:
Can Do
Will Deliver
Team Fit

Then audit your own signals and identify which ones are going quiet.

Outcome: You finally see what's been getting you skipped.

02

02 — SHARPEN YOUR SIGNALS
MODULE 2

Dig up the proof you've been throwing away. Your certification labs alone may contain more evidence than you realize.

Cut the noise and rewrite your experience into three Signal Statements a hiring manager stops on.

Outcome: Three lines strong enough to anchor your résumé, LinkedIn, and interview answers.

03

03 — SHOW YOUR SIGNALS
MODULE 3

Turn your statements into spoken stories.

Record yourself so the interview isn't the first time you've said them out loud.

Then build an Action Path that turns your proof into a repeatable job-search system.

Outcome: You leave prepared, confident, and moving — not hoping.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

I've seen the gap from both sides.

I'm Mike Shipstead — computer engineer (UC Davis), MBA, and a Silicon Valley product manager who worked on AI, cloud, and speech recognition before I ever taught a soul.

Then I spent five years teaching the Google IT Support Certificate to over 300 students — and watched something that changed everything: brilliant, capable people with the certification in hand, getting passed over again and again. Not because they couldn't do the work. Because they couldn't show they could.

One of my students walked out of an interview and was told, "Those were easy questions, you just didn't answer them well."

That sentence became this course.

I built Get Hired in IT, and Figure It Out Academy — to close the exact gap between knowing your stuff and proving it, because the world needs the capable people, not just the credentialed ones.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

This is for you if:

  • You've earned an IT certification (Google IT Support, CompTIA A+, or similar) but haven't landed your first IT role.
  • You're applying and getting silence — or interviews that don't convert — and you're starting to doubt yourself.
  • You suspect you might be talking yourself OUT of the job in the room, or on paper, without knowing how.
  • You're a career-changer who's done real, hard things and can't figure out how to make them "count" on a résumé.
  • You're willing to do four days of honest work instead of buying one more credential and hoping.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF

It's not for you if:

If any of the following describe you, this program is likely not the right fit.

  • You haven't started learning IT yet — this sharpens skills you already have; it doesn't teach IT from scratch.
  • You're looking for another certification or more technical content — that's not the problem this solves.
  • You want a magic résumé template and zero effort — the wins here come from doing the exercises, not just watching.
  • You already interview well and land offers consistently — you don't need this.

YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS. I'VE GOT ANSWERS.

You've got questions, I've got answers!

How long are the trainings?

Short and focused. Each daily training is a brief video (a few minutes) that sets up a hands-on exercise in your workbook. The real value is in doing the work, not watching — plan for 30–60 minutes a day across four days.

Who is this best for?

Aspiring IT professionals who hold a certification but haven't landed their first role — especially anyone getting silence from applications or struggling to translate what they know into what a hiring manager wants to see.

Do I need more technical knowledge or another cert first?

No. This is the opposite of another cert. It sharpens and showcases the skills you already have — the missing translation layer, not more material.

How long do I have access to the course content?

A full year. Revisit any training and reuse your workbook and AI prompts before every future application and interview.

What if I'm not “good on camera”?

That's exactly the muscle we train — privately, on your own phone, where no one sees it. The point is to take the reps alone so the real interview isn't your first time. And the live calls are there to help you through it.

Is there support?

Yes — the first cohorts include live coaching calls at the moments people most need them, plus a community to share your wins.

What's the guarantee?

[Add your refund/guarantee terms here once finalized — e.g., a satisfaction window.]

You don't need another certificate. You need better signal.

You've already done the hard part. Now show them.
